USCIS Miami field office: which of the four South Florida offices is yours
The USCIS Miami Field Office is at 8801 NW 7th Avenue, Miami, FL 33150. But it's one of four field offices in Miami-Dade and Broward (Miami, Kendall, Hialeah and Oakland Park) and USCIS assigns you to one by ZIP code: most of Doral goes to Hialeah, Weston to Oakland Park. There are no walk-ins; you go with an interview notice or an appointment from my.uscis.gov or the Contact Center, 800-375-5283.
The four offices and the areas they serve
From USCIS's own ZIP code file (August 28, 2026 edition), the one its office locator reads.
| Field office | Address | Serves |
|---|---|---|
| Miami | 8801 NW 7th Avenue, Miami, FL 33150 | 55 ZIP codes in central and coastal Miami-Dade: downtown, Brickell, Little Havana, Coral Gables, Key Biscayne, Miami Beach, Aventura, and Doral's 33126 |
| Kendall | 14675 SW 120th Street, Miami, FL 33186 | 56 ZIP codes in south and west Miami-Dade and all of Monroe County: Kendall, Westchester, Homestead, the Florida Keys |
| Hialeah | 5880 NW 183rd Street, Hialeah, FL 33015 | 34 ZIP codes: 26 in northwest Miami-Dade and 8 in southwest Broward. Hialeah, Miami Lakes, most of Doral, Pembroke Pines |
| Oakland Park | 4451 NW 31st Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 | 76 ZIP codes, the rest of Broward: Fort Lauderdale, Weston, Davie, Sunrise, Coral Springs, Pompano Beach, most of Hollywood |
Palm Beach County goes to the West Palm Beach office. Your notice always wins over any list, this one included: USCIS can transfer a case to balance the workload.
Doral, Weston and the cities that split
The county line doesn't decide; the ZIP code does. These are the ones people get wrong.
| If you live in | ZIP code | Your field office |
|---|---|---|
| Doral | 33122, 33166, 33172, 33178 | Hialeah |
| Doral | 33126 | Miami |
| Weston | 33326, 33327, 33331, 33332 | Oakland Park |
| Pembroke Pines (Broward) | 33024 to 33029 | Hialeah |
| Miramar | 33025, 33027, 33029 | Hialeah |
| Miramar | 33023 | Oakland Park |
| Hollywood | 33084 | Hialeah (the rest of Hollywood: Oakland Park) |
| Sweetwater, FIU area | 33174, 33199 | Kendall |
Citizenship in South Florida: four very different offices
USCIS publishes the naturalization applications (Form N-400) each office received, approved, denied and had waiting. The quarter ending June 30, 2026:
| Field office | Pending, Jun 30 | Approved / denied in the quarter | Share approved |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kendall | 9,546 | 1,063 / 222 | 83% |
| Hialeah | 8,905 | 1,033 / 294 | 78% |
| Miami | 8,153 | 551 / 256 | 68% |
| Oakland Park | 6,260 | 403 / 214 | 65% |
| All offices in the U.S. | 742,138 | 57,697 / 12,842 | 82% |
Miami and Oakland Park decided far fewer cases than they received that quarter, and denied about one in three of the cases they decided. You can't choose your office, but you can choose how prepared you arrive: complete records, every document translated, and a lawyer's review if anything in your history is complicated. In October 2026, sites that track USCIS's processing-time tool reported about 9.5 months in Hialeah, 10 in Miami and Kendall and 12.5 in Oakland Park for 80% of citizenship cases.

Before your interview, step by step
Read the notice, not a website
Your interview notice (Form I-797C) has the office, the time and the documents to bring. Check USCIS's office closings page the morning of the interview: South Florida offices close for hurricanes and storms.
If you have a lawyer, they come in person
Since May 18, 2026 your attorney or accredited representative can't join by phone or video, except in limited cases. Confirm the date with them as soon as the notice arrives.
Translate every document that isn't in English
Venezuelan actas, police records, court papers: each needs a full English translation and the translator's signed certification that they're competent and the translation is accurate (8 CFR 103.2(b)(3)). See how to do it right.
Bring an interpreter only if you need one
If you'll use one, bring them and Form G-1256. You both sign it in front of the officer, not before. For citizenship, the English test is part of the interview unless you qualify for an exemption.
Arrive early, carry nothing sharp
Everyone goes through security. Federal law bans firearms, knives, pepper spray and ammunition at any USCIS office, even with a carry permit; leave scissors, nail clippers and aerosols at home too. No photos, video or audio recordings inside, except during naturalization ceremonies.
USCIS appointments are free. Anyone who sells you an appointment, a "faster interview" or a spot in line is running a scam: report it to the Contact Center at 800-375-5283. Only attorneys and accredited representatives can give you legal advice; a notario can't.
How to get an appointment without an interview notice
On My Appointment, people in the U.S. can request a field office appointment online for an ADIT stamp (temporary proof of permanent residence), emergency advance parole, documents after an immigration judge granted you status, or "other". If none fits, the Contact Center can book it. For an information appointment, arrive 15 minutes early, not earlier; if you're late, it's cancelled.
Biometrics (fingerprints, photo, signature) are taken at an Application Support Center that USCIS assigns by ZIP code and prints on your notice. Kendall's support center shares the building with the Kendall field office, at 14675 SW 120th Street, open Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Miami Asylum Office
Affirmative asylum interviews for Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands are at 1501 Biscayne Boulevard, Suite 300, Miami, FL 33132, by appointment only. Phone 786-456-2900, email Miami.Asylum@uscis.dhs.gov. Park in the adjacent private garage (not validated) and take the blue "office" elevators to Level 5. If you're Venezuelan and lost TPS, read why the asylum deadline is running. If your case is already before a judge, see the Miami immigration court instead.
Free and low-cost legal help, in Spanish
These South Florida organizations are recognized by the Justice Department, so their accredited representatives can represent you before USCIS, usually free or for a small fee. From the official roster updated October 18, 2026; call first to ask which cases they take.
